Being a photographer allows me to meet a spectrum of incredible people and their families – and sometimes, those connections turn into amazing friendships. Mary Beth and I connected not long after I moved to Shreveport and immediately hit it off. Her warm, bubbly personality and incredible sense of humor instantly make you feel at ease and amongst friends. I swear, this girl is always laughing or smiling, which probably attributes to her success as a realtor with Diamond Realty!
When Mary Beth booked her headshots with me, I knew her session would more than just a simple business transaction. It was an opportunity to capture someone I care so much about but also spend time together giggling and having fun – which we did!
I hope you enjoy meeting Mary Beth and learning more about the amazing woman and professional she is!
Meet Mary Beth:
Tell us a little about yourself:
I grew up in a military family and traveled quite a bit throughout the years (mainly Southeast). I was raised with a hard work ethic and commission based mind set. I never received allowances, I only received commission from the hard work completed. I have been working labor jobs since I was 14 and got into sales at 16 and have never gone back! I love helping people and delivering a smile! Education is the key to a happy client!
What do you do?:
I am a Licensed Real Estate Professional that assists, navigates and advises buyers and sellers during their exciting but anxious process of buying or selling a home. I dedicate many hours and days to building my career. I work full time and have been known to work until 8:00-9:00 at night on selective nights when it’s “crunch time” to find the right house! If you want loyalty and dedication, I’m your gal!
How did you get started in your field of work?:
My husband was offered a position as a Branch Pharmacy Manager in Shreveport so we packed our bags and relocated. I have always been told that I would enjoy the Real Estate Industry so I thought I would give it a shot. It’s not the easiest career and you do have to build it EVERYDAY but the reward of a happy client is all the satisfaction in the world!
What is your key to success? How do YOU define success?:
I define success as a point in your career and life where you feel that you’ve given it your all. If you give it 100%, you will see the results; that goes for your career, your marriage, your faith, etc.
What do you find most challenging about your work?:
As you know, Realtors are a commission based business ONLY, so it can be quite frustrating when you work with a client for a month or two and then they decide not to purchase or sell because they get cold feet. It all depends on the client and their needs, sometimes their just not ready!
Tell us about the people you have met with your career:
Oh man, I have met ALL kinds of people! I have met military war veterans that have served in many battles (mentally and physically) and have stories that will make you laugh and cry. I have met business executives that help provide sales and marketing strategies to help my business grow. I have met many hard workers that provide manual labor for a living and love every minute of it. On the flip side, I’ve also been stuck as a quiet, awkward situation between a feuding couple on the brink of divorce. As a Real Estate professional, I am to stay neutral and positive in times of stress! As exciting and nerve racking as they may sound, I love what I do!!
What advice would you give to other business professionals?:
Have a goal, mental and physical, strive for that goal and don’t stop until you reach it. Success means a balance between your work life and personal! Don’t forget that we work to live NOT live to to work! Stay focused!
Where do you want to be in 2. 5, 10 years?:
In 2 years, I would like to have my first child with my wonderful husband while building my clientele base and paying off student loans. In 5 years, I fully intend on dominating the Real Estate Industry in Bossier/Shreveport. In 10 years, my desire is to create my own Diamond Realty Brokerage if the Lord permits.
Where can people find you & your work?:
I am in the building process of creating my professional website that will allow you access to search for homes within the Shreveport/ Bossier and surrounding areas. It will also provide you with tips and resources for selling or purchasing your home.
You can also find me on the many streams of social media; Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.
