When Bridget booked her headshots for her business with me, I knew we were going to have a blast. On the day of her session, she brought the works, tons of fun outfits and accessories, and a SUITCASE of shoes! I was in love! Hannah Kuhary, my professional hair and makeup artist that I partner with, THE DREAM TEAM as we call ourselves, had a blast coordinating outfits, having GIRL TIME while she got her makeup and hair professionally done, and playing fashion model while we took some incredible photographs for Bridget’s business and website!

I’m a little bit different than most other people – a little…eclectic. My focus in life is helping others succeed. Whether that be in business or in day-to-day life, I challenge the way people think, helping them to overcome the obstacles keeping them from their dream life. You know – the life you don’t believe you’ll ever actually have. I’ve spent many years studying the mind, self-improvement, motivation, marketing, and successful people then applying what I learned in my own life, tweaking the techniques and now teaching others what I’ve learned. Yet, who am I? First and foremost, I’m a rock star wife and mother. My family is my world – everything that I do, I do for them. I’m also an ordained minister, author, speaker and certified coach. Mostly, I’m just a sweet, southern belle who, in her free time, is out to change the world!
Q: What do you do? What is your business?
I’m an author, speaker and certified life coach as well as an ordained minister. I focus on teaching women how to overcome their limitations to live the life they are truly called to live – the one they believe is out of their reach. I teach them – step by step – what to do to change their lives, control their emotions, find their calling, and overcome their past and so much more. I do this through books, coaching programs, webinars, seminars and public speaking. My upcoming program – Divine Life Academy will be opening soon along with the release of my newest book – The Divine Life Revolution.
Q: Where can people find your work?
Q: How did you get started in your field of work?
I followed my heart. I saw how many people were struggling in life simply because they didn’t have the knowledge they needed to grow into the person that God intended them to become. So, I followed my heart, got my coaching certification and now, I get help people transform their lives. I have the BEST JOB EVER. And, you know what’s even better? I’m great at it! That’s what happens when you follow your heart – you end up with a career that doesn’t stress you out, keep you up late and drain the life out of you! Find your passion, ladies!!!
Q: Why is being your own BOSS, important to you? How do YOU define success?
Being my own boss is so important to me because I have a high set of standards and morals – the height of which no employer I’ve ever worked for met… With my own company, I define my stopping point and I choose to under promise and over deliver to my clients. I don’t take short cuts and I don’t take anyone’s money that I cannot give them ten times the value of what I’m charging.
When I do things, I give my best – always. If I can’t give my best and over deliver on what I’ve promised, I won’t do it. Being my own boss gives me the ability for my business to be more about quality and less about the bottom line. The crazy thing? When you care more about quality than you do about the bottom line – your business flourishes!
I define success as loving your life every day – no matter what. That means having peace with yourself and your life – every part of it. If you can do that, you are successful. Success isn’t about money. Money will come and go. If you spend this life chasing after money – you will be miserable along the way. Success is about peace and joy. When you find something in your life that brings you peace and joy, monetizing it is easy and you’ll make more than you’d ever imagined.
Q: What do you find is the most challenging about your work?
I love my work. There’s not really anything that I can say is particularly challenging because I’m always learning new skills and trick to combat any problems that might arise.
Q: Tell us about the people you have met with your career?
I’ve met thousands upon thousands of people in my career. I’ve worked with stay at home moms launching a new business from their laptop to abused women trying desperately to turn their lives around. Ultimately, every woman is beautiful and deserves the world!
Q: Have you ever experienced gender discrimination, how did it effect you?
Nope! If I did – I didn’t take the time to notice! People believe what they want to believe. Changing someone’s mind is impossible – only they can change their mind. If someone has something against you, just keep going – it’s not worth giving them one more thought. They will destruct themselves in time. You focus on you and competing against yourself, becoming your own best friend and achieving your goals then you’ll never even notice the people who try to come against you. They are only a distraction – do not be distracted from your divine life.
Q: What advice would you give to women looking to start their own business?
Keep going. Whatever happens – if this is your passion and your dream – keep going until you figure it out. So many people give up right before their big breakthrough. You must have confidence and a solid mindset which means that you’ll have to work more on yourself than you do on your business. That’s the big secret – it’s not necessarily about the product or the business or the skill – it’s about the person. If you aren’t confident and in control of your own mind, the fear and the distractions will conquer you long before you can release whatever creative genius you have inside of you out to the world. Confidence and control can all be taught. That’s what I do. Launching and running your own business isn’t going to be easy and yes – it might not work the first time but you know what? There’s a change you might fail chasing after something that isn’t your dream, too.
Q: Where do you want to be in 2, 5, 10 years?
For the rest of my life, I desire nothing more than to be exactly where God has called me to be – doing what He has called me to do!
Anything else you would like to say?
I’ve been blessed to witness some incredible situations in life. I’ve seen life begin and I’ve seen life end. I’ve held the hand of a patient while they took their last breath. An experience like that will change you. It will define you. It will remind you how temporary everything we have on this Earth is. So never forget that you were put here to do good with your life, not just to survive. What do you want written on your tombstone? What legacy will you leave? You are destined for greatness – you just have to get out of your own way to achieve it. Love – B
