After relocating to North Fort Worth, Texas in spring 2023, following my husband’s retirement from the U.S. Air Force, I began the exciting journey of creating something truly special.
After several months of thoughtful planning & construction, my dream has come to life – a private, luxury photography studio built right on our property in Rhome, TX.
Pouring all of my heart & soul (& savings) into this space, has had its ups & downs – but knowing what I can create for our community, it absolutely worth it. This is my 8th photography space in 15 years, so after all those moves (not to mention start overs) I knew exactly what was needed in my permanent space.
Looking at commercial spaces in the area, nothing came close to what I was searching for – plus the cost of renting business space in DFW, is quite expensive – we are talking thousands of dollars a month, for the same square footage I built. Not to mention, I really wanted on-site, outdoor spaces to photograph in as well.
Phase two – adding walls inside has finished, & I have begun work on the outdoor gardens; as time progresses, plans for phase three – finishing the ceiling & beams, will begin.
The studio is filled with airy vibes, heat/AC (a must in Texas), a free standing working tub (hello milk baths & boudoir), restroom, large client wardrobe closet, & plethora of rotating backdrop/sets. The doors are now open, and the space is welcoming clients for an unforgettable portrait experience!

The Mediterranean Patio Garden (shades of purple & sage) is 20′ long & ready to grow, grow, grow! I’ve also added evergreen wisteria to climb up & across another 20′ section of patio, which should give us a fragrant & beautiful floral archway to photograph in. I can’t wait to see how this fills out over the years! Maybe we can even add a Mediterranean style pool for underwater photoshoots – ah to dream!

The Moonlight Garden (exclusively filled with white flowering plants, silvery foliage, & soft green accents) has already been started. The goal is to have this large lush corner of the yard completed with a white picket fence – it will create a luminous, ethereal effect that feels both peaceful & magical. With fragrant blossoms, delicate textures, & a calming palette, this space is meant for quiet moments, reflection, & connecting with nature.

Ft Worth Photographers with Studio & Private Garden
Having a custom-built photography studio on our property has been an absolute game-changer. Not just for me as an artist, but for the incredible clients I get to photograph here. This climate-controlled space is designed with intention, filled with natural light, curated sets, & the perfect atmosphere to create timeless, artful portraits. Plus with the addition of the gardens, it provides outdoor spaces to photograph in as well.
Additional garden spaces in the works:
Raised Bed Garden (started March 2025) – a vibrant, joy-filled space with rows of seasonal blooms, designed not just for beauty, but for giving cut flowers.
Wildflower Garden (prepping for fall 2025) – a free-spirited haven, thoughtfully planted in rows of native Texas florals that bloom in a natural, painterly palette, plus a modern wooden swing set & hammock.
Shades of Pink Garden (planned for spring 2026) dedicated to tonal harmony, as a romantic, serene space with hues of pink; making the entire space feel like a living watercolor painting.
Fruit Orchard (planned for fall 2026) a charming, productive corner where in spring – it’s filled with fragrant blossoms – by summer & fall has branches hanging heavy with ripe, colorful fruit ready to be picked & shared.
Alley of Grace (prepping for fall 2025) a graceful mix of formality & movement with native & ornamental grasses, cultivated Texas florals & structured tree line.
