These ladies, oh my my! Sarah Giglio is a fellow member of our BNI Lagniappe chapter, Member Mentor Coordinator, Junior League Member, 40 Under 40 Recipient, and more! Her and Katherine Gilmer (another fellow BNI member) opened up their own firm this month, Gilmer & Giglio LLC, and I am so excited to see these amazingly talented ladies grow within the community, while helping those who have been accused of a crime or injured in an accident.
We had a blast during their business branding session. It was a girl’s day mixed with business, and they totally rocked it. Not only are they easy to talk to, but they are so incredibly smart (and have an amazing case record!) See what we created, and find out more about Sarah (& Katherine’s) firm below:
Q: What do you do? What is your business?
I am a partner at the law firm of Gilmer & Giglio, LLC. We are criminal defense and personal injury attorneys.
Q: Where can people find you/your work? (i.e. website, fb page, etc)
We have a website, www.gilmergiglio.com.
Tell the viewers a bit about yourself:
I grew up in East Texas, and went to undergrad at Texas A&M University. Then I moved to Dallas to attend law school at SMU. After I graduated from SMU, I began practicing criminal defense law in Dallas. I practiced there until I got married and moved to Shreveport, LA. When I started practicing in Shreveport, I was an associate at Elton Richey & Associates. We have now opened our own firm, Gilmer & Giglio, LLC, where I am a partner.
Q: How did you get started in your field of work?
I have known for quite some time that I wanted to practice law. After my first year of law school, I interned at the Dallas County District Attorney’s office, and confirmed that I was passionate about criminal law. Ever since that time, I have been pursuing a practice in criminal law.
Q: What is your key to success? How do YOU define success?
For me, professional success is having a practice that is regularly helping people who have found themselves in a tough time of their life. Most of my clients are good people who have found themselves in a bad situation, and if I can be the person who helps them get through that, and see the light at the end of the tunnel, I consider that a success. I think one key to success in my particular practice is always remaining compassionate toward clients. And of course, I always strive to work hard, grow my business, and constantly continue my education so that I am the best attorney I can be.
Q: What do you find is the most challenging about your work?
No two cases are exactly alike, so occasionally I will come across a case with particularly difficult legal issues, which can be challenging. However, I enjoy a good challenge, so usually it is fun.
Q: What advice would you give to other business professionals?
Always act with integrity.
Q: Where do you want to be in 2, 5, 10 years?
I want to be growing my practice continually, and have one of the premier criminal defense/personal injury law firms in the Shreveport/Bossier City area.
